Slow to Fast

Slow to Fast certainly encapsulates life at the present moment. Blogging came last while I managed my personal life in the last 18 months. My mothers wellbeing deteriorated and eventually she moved into a Care Home, My childhood home and her home of 57 years needed to be cleared and sold within a few weeks. This all came in the year of the snake, a year of great shedding and change. I revisited many parts of my past in the weeks I worked on packing away her life into boxes labelled Keep, Sell and Donate. All while keeping the business going.
October 2025 saw my annual retreat based on the year of the snake, smaller than usual - possibly due to less time focus on work. November the post retreat debrief and think about the next year for me, certainly bought the energies of the Fire Horse into play.
On a regular fire walking evening a random discussion led to me achieving a long term goal in early 2026. The fire tender at the evening made a recommendation for a Master Fire Walker to train me in Fire Walk Empowerment Events. Enter Lisa Clifford of Be Unstoppable Fire Walk and Empowerment Training. I excitedly booked two spaces the other for my son Callum who feels the call of the fire too. After many years and hard conversations about cost, likelihood of return of money in events it seemed so fitting that our training would fall in a Fire Horse year, and a "one" year in numerology, both representing new beginnings.
Other new beginnings swept in fast. A monthly collaboration with Carly Holbard of Yoga Carly now provides a Ceremonial Cacao and Yoga Nidra Evening once a month. From that sprang the possibility of Employing Carly as a therapist supporting my Corporate Massage Services. Two UK Conferences, one early morning Tai Chi and Yoga Event and a three day Wellbeing Festival later, Carly is an integral part of my team. All this before the Fire Horse even arrived!
Enter the Fire Horse, fire walk and empowerment instructor training finally happened at the end of March, beginning of April. I am still processing and feeling deeply altered by the week. Fire Walk plans are being carefully made and in the midst of this Callum and I managed a mad dash to Cornwall to spend a day with one of our new Fire Family helping him run his first walk. Alongside this other nebulous ideas are forming, Fire Walking Weekends in North Devon, and a possible fundraising event with a local charity.
Still the horse wants more! I thought the Fire Horse would be like a work horse slow steady and sure moving forward through the cleared ground of the Wood Snake year to build exactly what I have envisioned but no the Fire Horse is a Pure Hot Blooded Thoroughbred with a racing instinct and a will to succeed. Plans for the Fire Horse Retreat are underway and the numbers are looking amazing already! Alongside this there has been a massive need to change booking systems, Doodle no longer functions in a way that works for me, Beta versions don't always make things better. For years I've been looking for a calendar system that is a flexible as my working week but that also allowed me to hold specific pages and events for closed groups, nothing fitted. Not a calendar solution but and event solution that is simple and editable to make ticket sales look like massage clinic slots has now been deployed, making me more streamlined.
Coming full circle into personal life again, even that has been busy, I now run a parkrun every Saturday, Lucy ran the London Marathon this year, Charlotte ran the Landmarks Half last year and as a family we have been part of a support crew for each. Motorbikes have taken up time again and it's good to be on two wheels. Even my Son in Law will have our support later in the year for a 100km ultra marathon.
Life is good - Fast paced but good.
